Registered memory has a buffer chip which improves the memory module performance. This feature is on SDRAM (PC100, PC133) and DDR.
ECC memory has certain error correction features which make the memory module more reliable.
This feature can be on FPM, EDO, SDRAM, DDR, RAMBUS.
Memory module with Registered and ECC features provide maximum performance and reliability.
However, most systems do not allow modules with Registered and/or ECC to be mixed with regular
